1993 — PRESENT

Our Brief
History

From a small fellowship meeting in Streatham to a permanent home in Mitcham, the story of Elim Mitcham is one of faith, growth and God’s provision.

OCTOBER 1993

Where the journey began

Elim Pentecostal Church, Mitcham Branch started in October 1993 as a branch of Elim Camberwell, under the senior minister, Reverend Sam Larbie.

The first meeting place of the church was Streatham Youth Centre, Conyers Road in Streatham.

AUGUST 1998

A growing church

After five years, the church moved to a new venue, Fisher House, on Mitcham Lane, also in Streatham.

The church experienced growth and expanded beyond the capacity of the hall. The venue also had limited facilities for children, youth and other community related activities.

OUR VISION

Go into
the World!

Our vision is getting back to God’s Word, in order to go forward in His work!

It’s less of us and more of Jesus. It’s making sure that our foundation is Christ the Rock, and then there is only one way to build and that’s up!

We dare to believe that God will move again in our time. Not because of new ideas, but because He is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and His love never changes, for the dying souls of men.

You see, our gimmicks will fail, extremes will fail, but Jesus will NEVER fail.

His word remains true, heaven and earth will pass away, but my word will never pass away.

OUR PURPOSE

The church has a defined purpose to develop our relationship with God; with one another and into the world in which we live.

01 With God
02 With one another
03 Into the world
